Hillview Craft Tallow was founded by husband-and-wife team Andrew and Lauren Bagley. The couple met in 2017, married in 2020, and combined their unique backgrounds to create something special. The company’s name, “Hillview Craft Tallow,” pays homage to the Hillview Farm, which Andrew’s grandfather owned and operated in the 1970s.
Andrew is a fifth-generation small-town grain and cattle farmer from southwest Illinois, while Lauren—raised a “city girl” with a passion for cosmetics and skincare—was searching for a natural moisturizer to help soothe the dry skin associated with eczema. When she shared her struggle with Andrew, they decided, “Why don’t we just make our own?”
Drawing on his livestock background and his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Illinois, and her love of skincare, Andrew and Lauren formulated a whipped tallow balm using only natural ingredients that closely mimic the skin’s own sebum.

Hillview Craft Tallow began with a simple need — to find a natural, effective, and safe skincare solution for our family. Frustrated by store-bought products filled with synthetic ingredients, fragrances, and preservatives, we turned to something timeless: pure grass-fed beef tallow.
